First meeting of 2017

The Spring meeting will be held on 25 March 2017 at Aylesbury.  Click for the Advance Notice.

AGM 2016

The 2016 AGM was held on 8 October at Aylesbury in the Town Council Chamber, Church Street, HP20 2QP.  The speaker was Colin Davis on the recent publication, Street Design for All.  Click for:

First Meeting of 2016

The first meeting of 2016 was held in Chesham on Saturday 11 June.  The visiting speaker was Dr Andrew Brown PhD MCIfA, the Planning Director for SE Historic England, talking on Historic England.  Click for:

AGM 2015

The 2015 AGM was held on Saturday 17 October in the Market Hall, Amersham.  The speaker was the former MP, Laura Sandys, daughter of the founder of the Civic Trust, Lord Duncan Sandys.  Click for:

First Meeting of 2015

The Spring 2015 meeting was held in Potters Bar on 25 April in the Tilbury Hall of the Potters Bar United Reformed Church.  The speaker was Charles Campion of John Thompson and Partners who spoke on "Collaborative Planning".  For more background see this article on the Civic Voice website. AGM 2014

This was held in Berkhamsted in the Great Hall (part of Berkhamsted Town Hall), on Saturday 29 November.  Our hosts, the Berkhamsted Citizens Association, were celebrating their 90th anniversary.  The visiting speaker was Gillian Wain of the Fleet & Church Crookham Society.  Click for:

First Meeting of 2014

This took place on 12 April at Aylesbury.  The speaker was Freddie Gick, the new chairman of Civic Voice, who spoke about the changes in Civic Voice and what it would offer in the future.  Click for:

AGM 2013

This took place on 13 April at the Vision Hall, Christchurch, Radlett.  Click for:

AGM 2012

This took place on 3 November at St Ippolyts Parish Hall. The speaker was Steve Graham, the new Director of Civic Voice (see Civic Voice Board minutes for 21 June).  Click for:

First Meeting of 2012

This took place on 21 April in the Baptist Church in Upper Dagnell Street, St Albans.  The speaker was Peter Lerner, Planning Consultant, on ‘How civic societies can work with local authorities to implement the provisions of the Localism Bill and the guidance in the National Planning Policy Framework’.  The event was constituted as an Extraordinary General Meeting in order to consider a constitutional amendment.  Click for:

AGM 2011

First Meeting of 2011

AGM 2010

AGM 2009

AGM 18 October 2008

This was held at Hertford in the hall of the Baptist Church.  The guest speaker was Richard Brown, Assistant Director for the Environment at Hertfordshire County Council, who spoke on ‘Managing Hertfordshire’s waste in the future’.  Click for:

AGM 11 October 2003

This was held at the Fair Field Junior School, Radlett. The guest speaker was Nicholas Schoon, Director of Communications at the Campaign to Protect Rural England (CPRE), with an illustrated talk about Light Pollution.  Click for:

AGM 20 October 2001

The 2001 AGM took place at the United Reformed Church in Potters Bar on Saturday 20th October. The visiting speaker was Martin Bacon, the recently appointed Chief Executive of the Civic Trust. Click for:

First meeting of 2001

The first meeting of 2001 took place on Saturday 21st April at Tanlaw Mill (also known as the Old Town Mill) in the Hunter Precinct of the University of Buckingham. Click for:
